Though the Netherlands will remain an important gas producer for many years there are not many new projects. As a result export is very important for IRO members. Reason for IRO to support its members who wish to venture into new international markets. IRO's export support activities include:
Exhibitions
IRO organizes participation in all mayor oil and gas exhibitions like the OTC in Houston, Offshore Europe in Aberdeen and the Offshore Northern Seas in Stavanger. Participation is also organised for a number of smaller exhibitions on oil and gas worldwide. Trade missions
IRO organizes outgoing trade missions and programmes for incoming trade missions. IRO members will be informed about coming trade missions by e-mail. Trade missions will also be announced in our monthly newsletter or you can contact Ruud Liem at liem@iro.nl.

To keep members informed about worldwide developments in the oil and gas industry, IRO has subscriptions on a large number of international magazines on oil and gas. The centre also includes a large number of directories and other publications.

The IRO website contains information about the industry in general, information about its members (see IRO Members) and information about the association.
- Netherlands Oil & Gas Catalogue
In this catalogue one will find profiles of Dutch companies in the upstream industry and the IRO membership list. This catalogue is also available on cd-rom. The catalogue is distributed on wide scale at exhibitions, sent to (foreign) relations of the association and to the Dutch embassies and trade support offices abroad. The catalogue can also be viewed online at www.iro-noc.nl.
- Interviews, articles in foreign publications
IRO is active in giving interviews to and writing articles for foreign publications on the oil and gas industry.
Seminars
To inform members on business opportunities in international markets IRO organizes seminars in cooperation with other organisations on 'doing business in'.
Exchange of information / networking
The IRO Export Group (IEG), which comes together 4 times a year, enables members to exchange information on markets and projects. As the exchanged information is confidential, companies who are in competition with each other cannot participate within the same group. Advice
IRO gives individual advice to members wishing to do international business, making use of the vast expertise and network of contacts which has been built up in IRO's 30 years of existence. For more information, contact Ruud Liem at liem@iro.nl.

IRO regularly receives information on tenders which are either sent directly to relevant member companies (as far as known by IRO) or announced in the monthly 'IRO Nieuwsbrief'.

The Dutch Engergy Solution programme is a three years' programme to support the Dutch oil and gas supply industry to do business in the Gulf Region (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain). Memorandum of Understanding IRO and MOGSC
IRO signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MOGSC, Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council, www.mogsc.org.my.
MOGSC and IRO agree to establish a strategic relationship of business cooperation between the Dutch and Malaysian service providers in the oil and gas industry in the following fields:
Business Development, Innovation and Technology, Human Resources and, Safety and Environment.
Activities to be undertaken include the Exchange of Information, Seminars, Dialogues, Trade Missions, Matchmaking and Networking Events.
The MOU was signed on the 11th June 2009 at The Malaysian Petroleum Club in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the occasion of the Dutch participation in OGA 2009 exhibition by Mr. Sofiyan Yahya, President, MOGSC and Mr. Hans P.de Boer, Managing Director IRO.
Euronet
Euronet is an informal network of European oil and gas suppliers associations

Maritime Trade Board ( Stichting Nederlansd Maritiem Land)
The goal of the Maritime Trade Board is to promote the Dutch maritime sector of which the offshore oil and gas industry is one of them.
For this purpose 4 councils have been established: the Trade Council, the Innovation Council, the Public Relation Council and the Human Capital Council
IRO participates in all four councils. Ruud Liem of IRO is coordinator of the Trade Council. Goal of the Trade Council is to coordinate internationalization activities of the maritime sector.
AETIN
Advanced Energy Technologies INternational (AETIN) is a consortium of leading Dutch companies and research institutes active on the international energy market, that have joined forces to offer advanced expertise, technology and solutions for oil and gas projects in Vietnam.
AETIN is established and led by ‘Vietnam Consult & Trading B.V.’ and jointly financed by Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovations and participating companies. AETIN is supported by IRO. For more information: www.Aetin.eu
