IRO, the Association of Dutch Suppliers in the Oil and Gas Industry and Offshore Renewable Industry, promotes the interests of its members established in the Netherlands.

Its activities include providing support in the field of representation to public authorities and potential customers, promoting export, developing new technologies and providing information facilities.

IRO considers the formation and maintenance of a vast internal and external network of contacts for its members to be an important function and, to this end, organizes trade missions, congresses, seminars, workshops, courses, Member meetings and trade show participation both in the Netherlands and abroad. IRO also works with other similarly focused interest groups in the Netherlands and abroad and disseminates information via publications, the internet and meetings.

IRO also stimulates new technological developments and pays considerable attention to employment and education.


Ordinary member:
Direct suppliers of products and services to the oil and gas industry and offshore renewable industry.

Associated member:
Associated members are companies and organisations who are not direct suppliers to the oil and gas industry and offshore renewable industry but have an indirect interest in the upstream oil and gas sector and offshore renewable industry.

Supporters are small companies/self- employed persons which support the association financially with a minimum contribution per annum.

Candidate member:
Membership for a period of 1 year.

Associated organisations (international)

  • To become a member of IRO, it is required that a company is registered in the Netherlands
  • The IRO Board reviews your application and decides on admission to the membership (Art. 6 of the Articles of Association)

  • Only ordinary members have the right to vote at the General Assembly. Associated members, supporters, candidate members and exchange members do not have this right
  • The annual membership fee is based on the company’s annual turnover in the upstream oil and gas industry and offshore renewable industry
  • Termination of membership can be done by e-mail with a three months' notice before 1 January (Art. 7 of the Articles of Association)
