Trade mission to Vietnam – offshore wind also represented

From 28 to 30 November 2022 over 40 companies participated in a trade mission to Vietnam. Minister Liesje Schreinemacher for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation led the mission.

“Vietnam is interesting for the Netherlands due to its fast economic growth. Large companies have already discovered Vietnam, but there are also plenty of opportunities for small entrepreneurs. As a trade minister, I can help Dutch companies by opening doors for them here.”

The mission took place during the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE), which was organized by Eurocham Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City.

Offshore wind ambitions

Vietnam is a rapidly growing economy and, as such, its energy demand is increasing. To meet this rising demand, Vietnam has big ambitions for offshore wind: 7GW in 2030. From the Netherlands, we have been supporting Vietnam for some years to get this off the ground through G2G, K2K and B2B activities – Wind & Water Works.

From Wind & Water Works, Tjerk Suurenbroek gave a presentation during GWEC – Vietnam Windpower 2022 in Hanoi and participated in 2 panel discussions during GEFE in Ho Chi Minh on supply chain & energy port development.

In the coming years, we will continue to support Vietnam in its ambitions towards a sustainable energy economy.
