At the beginning of September, the Wereldhavendagen in Rotterdam kicked off once again! Several visitors gathered at the port for the 47th edition of the Wereldhavendagen. Together with our partner W.SMIT B.V., Bridges2000 was able to provide nine of its gangways to ensure safe travel from A to B. With our Rotterdam roots, we are proud to have once again participated in this fantastic event!
The Wereldhavendagen is a yearly celebration, and this year was no different. From a spectacular boat parade to breathtaking firework displays and countless ships to admire – there wasn’t a dull moment. The event kicked off on Friday with Youth Day, where young explorers got to know the port in a fun and playful way. Saturday? It was filled with performances, the spectacular illuminated boat parade, and a big round of applause for the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM), celebrating their 200th anniversary of heroic service. Sunday was all about excursions and shows, once again entertaining the crowds. With around 400,000 visitors, more than 100 ships, and a lot of fun activities, the weekend was action-packed!
For us at Bridges2000, it was yet another opportunity to showcase how we’ve been connecting people – both literally and figuratively – for 25 years. We are incredibly grateful to have been a part of this great success and we can’t wait for the next round.
The 48th edition of the Wereldhavendagen is already planned for September 5, 6, and 7, 2025.
