Paradigm Group based in Inverurie Aberdeenshire has successfully achieved the Silver Healthy Working Lives Award. This award is from the Scottish Government award programme aimed at helping companies identify issues and improve the health, safety and wellbeing of their employees in the workplace.
The programme has three awards, Bronze, Silver and Gold, each with a different set of targets for companies to achieve. These include internal campaigning for better health practises such as encouraging more exercise, the benefits of healthy eating and informative campaigns such as advising on alcohol measures and limits.
Kevin Langan, Managing Director of Paradigm Drilling Services comments about the award, “Since starting our Healthy Working Lives journey in 2019, the entire team are more mindful of what it takes to be healthy and motivated. We’ve noticed a distinct change in the team dynamic, encouraging a more cohesive team spirit. Especially in this current climate it is vital to look out for one another and find new ways of being proactive in the name of productivity, and this award has had a positive influence on that. Our sights are now set on achieving the Gold Award!”
The benefits of the initiative are thought to include reduced absence rates, less accident and incidents as well as improved recruitment and an enhanced reputation providing many commercial benefits.
