This was a great Y-Iro year with events at the DOB-Academy, Royal IHC and at Offshore Energy.
Recently Jeanine van Zon, of Van Oord, decided to focus more on her own Young organization, so we need to reinforce our team. We would like to thank Jeanine for her great work in the board! For 2019 we have big plans and with our new board member Sophie van Zanten, we are certain we can make next year even better than 2018. To introduce Sophie:
“Ever since I studied Hydraulic Engineering in Delft, I’ve been interested in the offshore sector. While working at Fugro, I was fascinated by the technology-driven change the offshore sector faces. This sparked my drive to actively play a role in the developments that are re-shaping our industry, and that’s why I’m proud to join the Young IRO board. I’m looking forward to being part of a team that inspires and activates young professionals to overcome the challenges of the energy transition and promotes innovation. During the weekends, I like to spend time enjoying food with friends and family, running and cycling in the dunes, or planning my next diving or skiing trip.”
We are happy to have Sophie in our team and are looking forward to all the great events we are going to organize in 2019!
Last week we said goodbye to Marjo Hakkenbrak from the IRO office. She has always been of great help and a great supporter of Young IRO, from the first founding days. We would like to thank her for all the positive support and wish her the best!
For now we would like to thank all our members and industry colleagues for this amazing year and wish you all happy holidays. See you in 2019!
