Young IRO is looking back at a successful launching event

12 October 2017, Rotterdam | Trade

During the Offshore Energy Conference and Exhibition, a large number of young industry professionals attended YOUNG IRO’s launching event.

Key question during the event was ‘Are you future-proof?’. All attendees were inspired and challenged to think about the future of their business and career.

From being an entrepreneur, senior executive and investor Ruud Veltenaar has presented for thousands of renowned clients in Europe and the United States of America, from youngsters to seniors eager to learn more about their future and possibilities for success. Veltenaar started his inspirational talk by interviewing IRO board members Jan Willem van der Graaf (Seaway Heavy Lifting) and Edward Heerema (Allseas Engineering) about their career path, their mistakes and successes over the years, and their advice to the young audience.

Both gentlemen also gave an insight in the role of young professionals in their businesses. Afterwards, Ruud Veltenaar challenged his audience to think more creative and ‘out-of-the-box’. You could say he gave the attendees plenty food for thought and subject for discussion for the networking drinks afterwards.

The YOUNG IRO Board would like to thank the Offshore Energy, Ruud Veltenaar, the IRO (board members), the sponsors Seaway Heavy Lifting and Jumbo Shipping and of course all YOUNG IRO attendees for making this event possible!
