In these turbulent times of working from home, DOB-Academy introduces a new type of training course to accommodate the need for offshore education: DOB-Online training courses.
In April DOB-Academy will launch two DOB-Online training courses which focus on basic knowledge for newcomers in the offshore wind industry:
The first training course covers the basics of the history and societal aspects of offshore wind as well as the fundamentals concerning components of wind turbines, support structures and electrical infrastructure.
The second training course will deal with the essentials concerning design, installation and operation & maintenance of offshore wind farms and concludes with a lecture on future technologies.
Participants can enroll for each training separately without prior knowledge or experience, but when taken together the two training courses provide a solid base for working in the offshore wind industry.
How do the DOB-Online training courses work?
During a live-streaming session of 3 hours from our historical building, DOB-Academy teachers will provide three lectures. The session will be interactive and participants will have ample of opportunities to ask questions which the teachers will answer during the live session. The traditional cases have been transformed into DOB workshops that participants can execute from home or their office. Beforehand, they will receive a DOB-box containing all required material from the training course and workshops.
Within one week after the live session, the entire session will be available once more via streaming at a fixed time. There is an exam at the end and participants will receive a certificate afterwards. The lectures also will be made available via our learning management systems.
DOB-Online training courses offer the same high level quality education as the traditional DOB-Academy training courses. Nevertheless, the online courses provide a way for professional development during times in which people are not in the position to travel to Delft.
Fee
Each DOB-Online training course will cost € 395,- (excl. VAT).
Start course
- The Wind Turbine History and Components training course will be live on Tuesday 7 April from 09:00 to 12:00
- The Basic Installation, O&M and Future Technologies will be live on Tuesday 14 April from 09:00 to 12:00
