Rotterdam, the Netherlands, 9 April 2021 – Today, the King and Queen of Spain presented the Iberdrola RETO Awards for Supplier of the Year. Under the heading RETO – meaning ‘challenge’ in Spanish and standing for Recuperación (Recovery), Energía (Energy), Transición (Transition) and ODS (SDGs) -, the awards went to companies that stand out due to their commitment to the energy transition, innovation, entrepreneurship, employability, talent, contribution to the SDGs and involvement with COVID-19. Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by the minister of Education and Vocational Training, Isabel Celaá, and the chairman of Iberdrola group, Ignacio Galán, presented the 2021 Supplier of the Year Awards, coinciding with the official inauguration of the company’s Innovation and Training Campus in San Agustín del Guadalix in Madrid.
Suppliers of the year 2021
The awards recognise the key role of the value chain in the achievement of Iberdrola’s strategic projects and the relevance of creating an ecosystem of suppliers working towards the same objectives. They are also an opportunity to highlight the commitment to encourage business management in areas such as sustainable development, safety and quality, innovation, internationalisation and job creation. Van Oord received the RETO Energy Transition award for its advances towards the energy transition. Van Oord has already been involved in the East Anglia ONE park and has won orders for Saint-Brieuc and Baltic Hub. We are very honored to have received the award.
