The live webinar takes place on Thursday, July 2 from 15:00 – 16:00 CEST in cooperation with Gas Infrastructure Europe.
During this webinar, MEP Maria Spyraki (EPP, Greece) will explore the storage potential in the EU. As a Shadow Rapporteur of a recent European Parliament’s report on energy storage, she will provide us with key highlights and explanations on why storage capacities are needed to guarantee the security of energy supply while reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.
Mr László Fritsch (President of Gas Storage Europe and CEO of Hungarian Gas Storage) will present the cross-sectoral benefits brought by the European gas storage facilities to the electricity system. He will also offer an overview of innovative projects and technologies currently developed by Storage System Operators (SSOs) across the European Union. Join this interactive session to discuss why underground gas storages are of prime importance in an integrated energy system.
