Ampelmann enters the Mexican market after signing first contract

Dutch offshore access provider Ampelmann has secured its first contract in Mexico, adding a new region to its global portfolio. An A-type system has been mobilised on a flotel and will operate for two months, enabling the installation of an oil and gas platform.

This contract is an important milestone for the Netherlands-based company, as it gives it the chance to set a new standard in safety for offshore operations in the region.

“Mexico is a very important market for us,” said Andres Garcia, Business Developer for Latin America at Ampelmann. “We take our first contract in the region as an opportunity to improve the safety standards for offshore transfers in the region.”

The fully motion compensated A-type system, mobilised on a flotel, is being used in Mexico to transfer personnel from vessels to offshore platforms, and back, making Ampelmann a pioneer in this market.

“This is a great achievement for Ampelmann to showcase our capabilities in marine personnel access in a new region,” said Gus DeOliveira, Area Manager Americas at Ampelmann. “The work and effort by the team locally has been rewarded with our first project in Mexico. We look forward to working with our client to achieve a safe and successful project.”

The company is also looking towards expanding its reach in Mexico and contributing to ever-higher safety standards in the local offshore industry.
