Ampelmann reaches a double milestone: 5m people and 10m kg of cargo safely transferred worldwide

Dutch offshore service provider Ampelmann is proud to announce that, as of today, it has enabled the safe transfer of 5 million people and 10 million kilogrammes of cargo worldwide. This double milestone is proof of the company’s continuous commitment to setting the industry standard in offshore safety and efficiency.

“The double milestone is a great moment to recognise the ongoing support Ampelmann has received from its customers, who continue to embrace our innovations and the game-changing way of working in the offshore industry,” said Jan van der Tempel, CEO of Ampelmann.

Safe transfer number five million took place during a project in Qatar, where the A-type is operating on the POSH Skimmer vessel for a local oil major.

A project with Siemens on the Deep Cygnus vessel in the North Sea, in turn, is what tipped the counter past the 10 million kg mark. The E1000 has been enabling both personnel and cargo transfers for over two years now, primarily in the offshore wind industry.

Pioneering the Walk to Work (W2W) market more than 10 years ago, the Netherlands-based company has come a long way in enabling the safe and efficient access of crews and cargo to and from offshore structures. What started as an idea during an offshore wind conference has turned into a company with 11 offices globally and an international workforce. Ampelmann maintains a fleet of more than 60 systems and has enabled over 300 projects to date.

“As the oil and gas industry is finding its footing again and offshore wind keeps on breaking records, we are happy to have our current fleet fully occupied this year,” said Van der Tempel. “Furthermore, new innovations are already online, with more to come over the next months to expand our efforts in making offshore access as easy as crossing the street.”
