Webinar: The upside of turbulence: keep cash in or invest in the energy transition?

Online Webinars

COVID-19 turned our world upside down. It created chaos and disruption but also made us flexible, creative and inventive. And now we’re moving to the upside of this turbulence where we’ve been offered a restart to do things differently. With many companies currently in survival mode how can we utilize this opportunity for a ‘green recovery’? What should the offshore and energy industry do to accelerate the energy transition and play a role in the upside?

Many Partners are facing a dilemma, continue pre-COVID investments like zero-emission equipment, exploring new markets such as (offshore) energy storage, blue and green hydrogen projects and attracting the next generation bringing diversity of thought OR bootstrap: keep cash, buckle up for the downturn, cancel projects not contributing to the core business.

This Partner meeting is about this dilemma. We invited two strategy-thinkers and three hands-on daily operations panellists who will share expected market and technology developments as well as necessary changes in human capital.

Speakers
Lars Eirik Nicolaisen, Senior Partner and Deputy CEO at Rystad Energy
Lars Eirik Nicolaisen will give his latest market update on the energy transition in the post-COVID world. His presentation will look into the four key drivers underpinning the energy transition as well as understanding COVID-19’s impact – will it accelerate or postpone the energy transition?

Adam Middleton, CEO at Siemens Energy
What do we need to do as an industry to make this ‘green recovery’ happen and what are we going to do about it? The answer is change. Adam Middleton will speak about the necessary changes we need to make and how to bring in diversity of thought.

Expert panel on ‘Creating OUR future’
Prime Minister Mark Rutte called out to all the young people in the Netherlands to together form the ‘new normal’, to start a revolution. How does this apply to the energy transition, how do we prevent a climate crisis? How can young professionals use their influence to accelerate the energy transition? How to meet with other generations and still respect each other’s values?
