Fifth edition of the innovation challenge – A call for partners with technical challenges

TKI WIND OP ZEE AND OFFSHORE WIND INNOVATORS PRESENT THE FIFTH EDITION OF THE INNOVATION CHALLENGE – A CALL FOR PARTNERS WITH TECHNICAL CHALLENGES

The fifth edition of the Offshore Wind Innovation Challenge has officially started! Our goal is to accelerate applied innovations in the offshore wind industry. For this, the organisers are on a search for leading offshore wind companies and organizations looking for an innovative solution to challenges they face during their offshore wind related activities. Do you have a challenge that could use an innovative and creative solution? Looking for new technologies an connect with start-ups? Then contact us to submit a Challenge for the Offshore Wind Innovation Challenge 2021.

To realise one of the largest infrastructural developments in Dutch history, the offshore wind industry has to make offshore wind even more affordable, reliable and sustainable. Advancing technical innovation and implementing it into the offshore market will give offshore wind a better position in the energy system, both in the Netherlands and on an international level. This is the foundation for the Offshore Wind Innovation Challenge of 2021 and this is why the organisers call for challenges presented by companies. The challenges will offer SME’s, R&D organizations, and start-ups in Europe the opportunity to come up with innovative solutions for these challenges. The objective of this cooperation is to connect the companies that are looking for out-of-the-box solutions with innovators that can present the solution the industry is looking for.

Save time and money on a time-consuming process of problem solving and innovation on topics, to find excellent and innovative solutions to your challenge just like Van Oord, TKI Wind op Zee, SeaZip, De Rijke Noordzee, Deutsche Windtechnik and Gemini did in previous editions.

With a track record of challenges such as finding long-life CTV fenders, optimize bubble curtains to Reduce Noise Emission and Efficient Biodiversity Monitoring, the success of OWIC has become an annual process for the Dutch offshore wind industry. Multiple solutions have been implemented since the start of the challenge. In 2019 an ingenious bubble curtain to damp piling sound and artificial reefs were solutions that helped the leading companies. In 2020 solutions for fully biodegradable reef structures and efficient underwater monitoring were presented. Could your challenge be solved in 2021?

Contact us at owic@tki-windopzee.nl for more information about this challenge before the 6th of April.
