After pitches of new IRO members GLOBE Airmotors & Test Equipment, EMAR Offshore Services, Multraship Towage & Salvage, Rotterdam Offshore & ROG Ship Repair, Van Meeuwen Industries BV and Critical Minds we were introduced to the world of heavy steel plates. AncoferWaldram Steelplates B.V. produces them in any conceivable grade, size and thickness and ready to be used in the offshore oil, gas and wind industry.
AncoferWaldram Steelplates (AWS) is a subsidiary of Dillinger Hütte, Europe’s leading heavy plate producer with an annual rolling capacity of 2.0 million tons. Joost van Dijk, Managing Director, gave a presentation on 15 years AWS, in which he emphasized that its stock of 100,000 tons of quarto plate makes all the difference in their success over the years. Tobias Lehnert, Marketing & Technical Support Manager from Dillinger, followed with a presentation on thermomechanically rolled plates and its benefits in various applications.
After the presentations, all members were invited for a guided tour at the production hall, where we could see the many plates in several thicknesses and the various ways of cutting and customized processing. After the tour all members were invited to join the network drinks & bites.
