Due to the current developments related to the transition from traditional energy sources to renewable energy, the association has changed its name and purpose in order to better reflect the activities of its members.
With the new name ‘Branchevereniging voor de Nederlandse Toeleveranciers in de Offshore Energie Industrie’ or in English ‘The Association of Dutch Suppliers in the Offshore Energy Industry’ IRO focuses on offshore wind and other forms of renewable energy sources in addition to oil and gas. This change in name and purpose has resulted in an intensification of efforts and activities related to offshore wind and other forms of renewable energy sources.
