The Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Miami and the Netherlands Business Support Office in Houston, in close collaboration with the Greater Houston Partnership, will host the virtual roundtable: Houston and the Netherlands: accelerating business opportunities in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
Both the Netherlands and Houston are energy hubs at the forefront of the energy transition, and the two have been collaborating indifferent areas of innovation. Both also have the potential to become hubs for CCS. The Netherlands is developing major projects to store CO2 in empty gas fields beneath the North Sea; similar plans are being conceptualized for the Houston port area.
What can the gateway to Europe and the energy capital of the world learn from one another? An exchange of experiences and best practices between key players in Houston and the Netherlands could help define business opportunities and inspire the commercialization of smart solutions.
Why Carbon Capture, and Storage? How can this technology be scaled commercially, and integrated into existing infrastructure and industrial processes? How will this move the energy transition forward?
