Opening new training ship RelyOn Nutec Amsterdam

On the 19th of September 2019 RelyOn Nutec officially opened the new training ship in the harbour of Amsterdam. With this specially designed training ship the safety training provider can offer a wide range of fire- and life boat related training courses for the offshore, maritime and wind industries and public fire brigades. This new training facility, situated at the NDSM-Pier, is the latest investment in the Netherlands for RelyOn Nutec and ultimately transforms the Amsterdam training centre into a full scope training centre.

Realistic training facilities
The interior of the ship has a cabin, galley, storage room and fuel treatment room. The ship has an engine room consisting of two levels. Live fires with different types of fuel can be lit in controlled conditions. A conventional and free-fall lifeboat are attached to the exterior of the ship.

Thanks to the extensive facilities on board the ship, the entire ‘command & control’ chain can be trained. The combination of firefighting and lifeboat facilities makes it possible to train various scenarios, including the actual abandonment of the ship if the incident cannot be controlled. The ship also offers the participants the opportunity to practise working in and rescue from confined spaces.

,,I am very proud of the result that we have presented to you today. With our new training facility we are able to offer very realistic training scenarios to our delegates. Due to the nature of the training courses, customers will not only be compliant to certification, we will be able to guarantee an even higher level of competence than ever before. I am thankful to all partners and employees who have contributed to this result’’, says Peter Van Cauwenberghe, Managing Director RelyOn Nutec Central Europe.
